Is Your 11 Year Old Bikini Crazy? A Guide to Your Child’s Sexual Journey

Is your 11-year-old bikini crazy? Well, this can be a surprising situation for you. If you are a mum living in “not a bikini” society, you will definitely think that this is too early. On the other hand, if you are self-empowered or self-confident yourself, then you must sense that your daughter should feel the same. This can be an appropriate time for you to think about this before your daughter does.

Teaching your child about different aspects of life takes a different route for different parents. So does teaching them about sexual health and adaptations. The course you adapt is the thing that matters.

Watching your child growing up is exciting as well as a very worrying period of your life as well. You, as a parent, feel, that you are growing too with them. Most importantly, the relationship of a mother with her daughter holds the significance, that can’t be ignored.

“Does my child take too much interest in sexual talks?”, ”Why is my child worried about her body out of the blue?” “Is my 11 year old bikini, crazy?” These questions are worrying but actually, very directive towards the thought that you should be ready for your child’s sexual education.

Your 11 years old girl has a height of 4 to 5 feet now, or a weight of 70 to 100lbs. Her breasts are likely to develop, or most probably has started developing pubic and underarm hair as well. She may have undergone her 1st menstrual period. Above all, she is developing sexual skills also. The hormonal spike is at its peak. It’s the need of the hour for a responsible mum like you to move ahead and talk to her.

Before moving to the main topic, you as a mum first need to develop some necessary skills for this primary step. Reach out for your kid before she reaches to any other person or to you in a wrong way.

As a good mother, you should

  • Develop a time frame when to talk to your daughter and how often.
  • Use motherly gestures and words, that at first hand, attract your child towards you.
  • Use age-appropriate terms. The cute names for any body part and functions is not a good way to teach about sexuality nowadays. This thing is vital in terms of abuse and molestations that are very common nowadays.
  • Listen carefully to what she says, encourage them to be open to you.
  • Teach them the different opinions different people hold.
  • Try to answer her questions so that she can easily be satisfied.

The answer might be exciting. If your 11-year-old is bikini crazy, she must have some aesthetic sense. Maybe she wants to look or feel grown-up or attractive. She can express the idea that she wants to look sexy or needs the attention of boys.

Whatever is the cause, here you need to examine your own biases, beliefs, and prejudices and guide your kid that way.

“Mum, I saw my friend’s post on social media. She was wearing one of the cheeky bikinis and, she really looked nice in it. One of my friends has two wardrobes, and in the other one, she keeps the bikini stuff for her. Her mother has allowed her, in some circumstances, to wear any kind of swimwear she wants. Mum, I want to have it too.”

Here you can get an idea about how she is behaving to what she sees, thinks, or perceives. A growing child is undergoing hormone changes in her body that provokes in her some sexual thoughts. So, try to find out the cause?

Does she want to tan her body?

Does she need to be provocative?

Is she fond of sexual stuff? Like hot bikinis.

Or does she need to be sexually attractive for herself?

If you know these questions, you are very well able to answer why my 11 years old is bikini crazy.

Different societies, countries, or cultures behave differently to this issue of “BIKINI CULTURE”. You may live in Europe or America, and can still act repressively about wearing bikinis. Or, you may live anywhere in eastern setup, yet feel this thing normal and not a big issue. It all depends on how you perceive this thing.

For some of you, wearing bikinis is not just sexualizing stuff to do, and age doesn’t matter at all. You don’t find any business for covering up your kid’s body while swimming or if any of her peeps do wear them. For you, it may be a thing to enhance your self-awareness or confidence.

On the other hand, not wearing bikinis can hurt your child’s sexual health. She may feel left out in her friends or simply not attractive at all. For us, we don’t want to project our adult feelings over the innocent mindset of our kids.

Well, if this is not the case, you may find the culture of wearing bikinis as titillating the opposite gender or over-sexualizing yourself before time. Buying the mere teeny tiny two pieces of cloth for your kid is not so meaningful for you. As it is just a display of the body of your beautiful baby, who is all innocent.

You think that there is a right time for the right things. For you, it is to teach them that your body is your asset. Not to show it off to everyone wearing such inherently provocative stuff.

It all depends on your beliefs about wearing bikinis, as mentioned above. You can mould your child according to what you think is best for her. You are her parents. So, think and decide according to your will and wishes.

Sometimes some parents allow it before 8 and after 18. We can find the reason behind this logic as the time in which your girl is undergoing her puberty changes physically and sexually. So, she is maybe concerned, worried, or touchy about her body.

For some, it is okay to never start bikini routines until their girl gets to 18, or at least 16. Before that, they can prefer boy shorts or halter tops for her.

Some parents think that any age is okay. For them, sexualism lies in thoughts. So, we never find any no way logic in allowing our kids not to wear bikinis.

Sometimes, some girls find this bikini thing very cute to wear even at 8. Whereas, a girl of 12 may find it un-appropriate. To sum up, it all depends on you and your kid what to decide and when.

Now when your 11-year-old is bikini crazy, let’s solve this issue.

This is one way out for kind of liberal parents, who think that their girl is out now. So, she can make her own decisions. She can get out to buy any type of bikini she wants or even secretly and can wear them. Teach her that she doesn’t need to feel she can’t be herself or sneak around. Tell them that bikini is just a piece of cloth and you will feel motivated and confident whenever or wherever you wear it.

If you are very responsible parents, you will set the boundaries for your kid. Define the appropriate bikini age for her. You can also save that bikini timing for her bedroom or private pool if you don’t find the public wearing of bikinis. Tell them that appropriate ones look really cute in public too.

Some parents are kind of touchy about their kids, rather than conservative. So, if you are such a variety, teach your girl that her body is inherent and sexual but first for them. It is actually the privatization of sexuality rather than oppression. If your 11-year-old is bikini crazy, she would need particular words to guide them. Bikinis seem nothing to get bent out of shape. Be kind and advise her that these dresses are age suitable and not an acceptable choice for her for an innocent 11-year body. Above all, taking care of private parts is very much needed.

What to choose for your 11-year-old bikini crazy girl?

At a young age, the single-piece suit seems fine, but two pieces are pertinent for older girls. It is wiser to use less-appealing bikinis in toddlers or kids. Tankinis can be the option at this age. But as they grow older cheeky bikinis or thongs look more attractive.

Enough for your girls, your boys need some tips too. As most of you have boys in your home as well, teach them the appropriate age skills related to girls’ stuff. Teach them to behave well in terms of maintaining respect for girls out there in bikinis because some girls really are crazy about such girly stuff. Still, they hesitate to carry it in public more often in front of boys.

How Long Does It Take Birth Control To Work? | The Right Parenting

“You are pregnant!” This news can make women either jump with excitement or totally freak out. The most common rejoinder in the latter case is: “What? How? Why? But I was on birth control…” Most women get pregnant despite being on birth control, and cannot figure out where it went wrong. Besides many other factors that might have messed up, a common mistake is that they are not aware of “how long does it take birth control to work?”

Hence to avoid the unexpected pregnancy scare, you must know: How long are you not protected from pregnancy after starting a birth control method?

What factors determine the time for birth control to work?

“How long does it take birth control to work” depends on:

  • the method of birth control used
  • the time of the month you start using it
  • personal factors

Some methods start working immediately while others require some patience. You have to continue using backup methods like condoms until they are actually effective!

Do NOT panic! Let’s dive into each kind of birth control method separately.

The Pill

The pill is basically a hormone medication that tricks your body into believing that it is already pregnant and prevents the release of eggs from ovaries. Cunning, isn’t it? But it needs to maintain that state for a couple of weeks before ovulation for your body to adjust to the new status.

The pills are taken every day for 3 weeks followed by a placebo week in which dummy pills without hormones are taken. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the pill is 99.7% effective with perfect use but 92% with typical use.

The Combination Pill: How long does it take birth control to work?

The combination pill contains both estrogen and progesterone. If you start taking your combination pills within the first five days of your period, you are lucky! You can have sex right away. But if not, you have to wait for 7 days. If you want to have intercourse during that duration, use backup methods like condoms.

The Progestin-only Pill: How long does it take birth control to work?

If you are a lactating woman or are concerned about the side-effects of estrogen, you can take the mini-pill which contains only progesterone. It is not as effective as the combination pill in suppressing ovulation. However, it thickens cervical mucus to prevent sperms from reaching the eggs.

It will start producing its “contraceptive effect” effectively two days later, regardless of the time you start using the pill.

  • This may be different for certain types of pills. Read the instructions on your pill carefully.
  • Do not miss the pill.
  • Take the pill at the same time every day.

If you miss the pill

  • If you have missed one pill, take the pill immediately when you remember, even if you have to take two pills in a day, and continue taking the pills normally. Fortunately, you are still protected from pregnancy; there is no need for extra contraception methods.
  • If you have missed 2 or more pills, take the pill immediately when you remember. But you should also use other contraceptive methods like condoms for 7 days in case of a combination pill and 2 days in case of progestin-only pill to be protected from pregnancy.

  • Modafinil
  • John’s Wort

Plan B: The morning after pill

Take the morning after pill; but you need not wait for the morning to take it! As a matter of fact, the sooner you take it, the more effective it is. It may be effective for up to 4-5 days after unprotected sex.

Albeit, this is just an emergency control method. And you must not rely on it regularly.

An intrauterine device or IUD is a reversible birth control method. It is a T-shaped device inserted in your uterus. There are two types of IUDs: Copper and Hormonal IUDs. Both of them cause the release of chemicals that kill sperms by causing an inflammation reaction. However hormonal IUDs also release progesterone that thickens cervical mucus and prevents the uterine lining thickening.

An IUD needs to be replaced after 3 to 10 years. They are 99% effective if checked for correct placement.

How long does it take birth control to work?

Does it start protecting you from pregnancy immediately after it is inserted? If you have had it inserted during the first five days of your period, YES. Otherwise, use other methods like condoms for 7 days.

Barrier Methods

They say: “If you really love her, wear a cover!”

Male or female condoms, diaphragm, cervical cap, and sponge are included in the barrier methods. They do not allow the tiny swimmers i.e. ‘sperms’ from reaching the eggs. They are not very effective ranging from 94-98% effective with perfect use and 84-88% effective with typical use; at times even lower.

And many men might wish to take responsibility and use birth control methods. But currently, they have only two successful options available i.e. male condoms and vasectomy.

Nevertheless, scientists are making resurgent efforts to find novel contraceptives for men. How Old Do You Have To Be To Buy Condoms? Where To Buy Them?

A lot of myths surround the usage of condoms. As everyone considers sexual health a taboo topic, you may be scared to discuss it openly, for the fear of being judged. One of the common questions that comes across your mind is, “How old do you have to be to buy condoms?”. Well, look no further, as we have covered all (or almost all) of your condom concerns.

What Are Condoms?

Condoms are one of the contraceptive methods used to prevent unwanted pregnancy. Contraception is an important subject when sexual health is concerned.

There are different types of contraceptive devices that you can use as per your ease and requirement. Condoms are a barrier method of contraception. As they prevent the seminal fluid aka semen (the fluid that has sperms) from entering your partner’s reproductive tract.

They also prevent the transmission of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), though not 100%.

Condoms are thin, elastic, fitted, rubber tubes that are worn over the penis, or placed inside the vagina. They come in different sizes, materials, and maybe lubricated or not.

Age Limits For Purchasing Condoms?

So by now, you may (for sure) know what condoms are. And their use, which is to enable protected sex.

Now, the important question that may pop up in your mind is, “How old do you have to be to buy condoms? “. The answer to this question is very simple. There is no legal age limit to purchase condoms. Yup, you heard that right!

That means you can buy condoms at any age. You may get a startled or judgmental look from the shopkeeper or pharmacist if you’re a bit younger.

They may even ask you to show your ID. If you come across such a situation, you can simply refuse and not buy condoms from there. There are plenty of other places to purchase them.

Where Can You Get Condoms From?

After successfully answering your question, “How old do you have to be to buy condoms? “, the next question that instantly comes up is, “Where can you get condoms from? “.

Condoms are easily available at utility stores, supermarkets, and convenience stores at the side of a gas station or petrol pump.

They are even available as an OTC (over the counter) at drugstores and pharmacies, that is you don’t need a prescription by your doctor to purchase them.

However, if you feel embarrassed or hesitant about buying from the above-mentioned places, you can ask your doctor, health care advisor or even a Planned parenthood center to provide you with a condom.

One important thing to note down is that safe sex should be your first priority. And for that purpose, keeping a condom is nothing less important than sex itself.

Price Tags And Price Ranges?

“How old do you have to be to buy condoms? “. As we discussed, nope there is no age limit for that. With that being settled, now you may be wondering, “How much does a condom cost? “.

Individual condoms cost from anywhere around $0.50 to $2. Prices definitely vary depending on the material used, texture, presence of lubricant, or of flavored condoms.

However, you can get them free of cost from a community or college health care center or Planned parenthood, or even from your doctor’s office.

Gender-Specific Condoms?

There are different condoms for males and females, obviously!

  • Male Condoms

Male condoms are usually made of latex. They are like a deflated tube (obviously before use!) in shape. There is a ring on one side and a tip, usually with a small reservoir on the other end. The reservoir is to store semen during intercourse.

  • Female Condoms

Female condoms are inserted into the vagina. They have one closed end, that goes inside the vagina, and an outer ring. Place the ring against the outer end of the vagina.

Different Types Of Condoms

As we briefly mentioned earlier, condoms are of various types, depending upon the ease of use and requirement.

  • Synthetic Or Natural?

Condoms are made of different materials. Mostly, latex condoms are used. However, if you have an allergy to latex, you can use plastic condoms. Both these condoms effectively protect against sexually transmitted diseases, as well as pregnancy too.

Natural or lambskin condoms are made of lamb’s intestine. They offer protection against unwanted pregnancy, but not against STDs.

  • Lubricated Condoms

Condoms can be lubricated as well. Lubricant is a thin layer of fluid, which can be oil or water-based (prefer the latter). Lubricants prevent pain and irritation during sex and make the act more pleasurable.

  • Textured Condoms

Textured condoms include studded or ribbed condoms. They heighten sexual pleasure for you and your partner. You can use them as a part of foreplay too.

Things To Know When Buying Condoms

Apart from knowing “How old do you have to be to buy condoms? “, you may want to keep other things in mind too. When purchasing condoms, you may want to be careful about your size.

Although the standard size does justice to most people, it may not necessarily be the best fit for you. A too tight or too loose condom won’t make your sexual experience any better. So yes, sizes do matter!

The same comes about the material. Latex allergy is a documented problem! You may want to do a test run with one condom to see if you don’t have it before going to bed.

Another important thing to look out for is the expiration date. Expired condoms are likely to pose health problems for you or your partner.

And well let’s not forget, after catering to all of the things, you should be able to properly use the condom too. Wrong practice of using it may lead to an unwanted pregnancy or even worse-an STD!

When To Talk To Your Doctor?

Sexual health is a very important aspect of your overall well-being. And having a healthy sexual life is a must.

Regarding the use of contraception, your doctor or health care provider is always a good place to drop by for advice. While using condoms, this health care personnel can guide you about the correct usage, and what to do if your condom slips or breaks during intercourse.

To conclude, we have established that if you come across the question, “How old do you have to be to buy condoms?”, you should know that there is no legal age limit. And you can purchase condoms anytime, as per your need!

Eating vegetables, proteins, and complex carbohydrates in the recommended ratio will also help her in maintaining a healthy environment for the baby and the chances of carrying out a healthy pregnancy will increase.

Get a checkup done

Before you start trying to get pregnant yourself, it is always best to consult a doctor and a genetic counselor. Understand the pros and cons, chances and requirements for having a healthy conception and pregnancy.

Your doctor will check up both partners and suggest how you can get her pregnant fast. She might have to take some supplements like folic acid to create a favorable environment for the baby inside her body. A healthy pregnancy is even more important than getting pregnant in the first place, it is the best idea to start with professional help.

Understand the cycle

It is common knowledge that you cannot get a woman pregnant throughout the month. There are certain days in which she is ovulating and if the sperm reaches the egg during those days, only then you can expect to get pregnant. All you have to do is to know exactly when she might be ovulating.

The process is simple, first of all, the woman has to be sure about her normal menstruation date. The egg is released almost 13 to 14 days after her periods start. You can start trying to get her pregnant one week after her periods end. This will boost the chances of getting pregnant because sperm can live inside a woman for up to 6 days. Whenever the egg is released, the sperm will find it.

Stay in the bed for some time after sex

People have believed for a long time that staying in bed after having sex and keeping your feet in the air can help you conceive. This is not entirely true. Doctors suggest that staying in bed surely increases the chances of getting pregnant because the sperms can move inside the cervix by then. But keeping your feet in the air will not help you.

In fact, the movement of sperms in the cervix has nothing to do with your position. Waiting is good but doing anything funny won’t help. Also, avoid going to the toilet for at least 20 minutes after you have sex. This boosts your chances of getting pregnant fast.

Do not overdo it!

Some people falsely believe that having sex again and again when you are ovulating will help in conceiving sooner. This is not exactly how it works. Researchers suggest that having more sex can only help you if you do it every other day, have a lot of sex in one day has nothing to do with fast conception.

If you do a lot of sex in one day you might get very exhausted which is not good for people trying to conceive. The key to getting pregnant in a healthy way is to enjoy the act itself. Your sperm can live in her body for 6 days. And even if you do not have sex for a day or two, your chances of getting pregnant won’t be affected.

Try missionary position more

Relying on sex positions to help you get pregnant is not a smart thing to do. There are millions of myths about how very uncomfortable positions will help you get pregnant. While we assure you that these things have nothing to do with getting a woman pregnant fast, there are chances that a missionary position might help you.

Some researchers believe that this specific sex position allows the sperms to go directly into the cervix, reaching where they have to. Although the majority believes that you can still get pregnant through almost all sex positions.

Maintain a healthy lifestyle to get a woman pregnant fast

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is the key to give birth to a happy and healthy child. Many people find themselves unwilling to let go of bad habits like smoking and alcohol when they are trying to get pregnant. Evidence suggests that these unhealthy habits can lead to a delay in conception and adversely affect the health of the child.

Start exorcizing but not too much. Avoid unhealthy foods but do not start crash dieting. Maintain a balance and you can easily get a woman pregnant fast.
